Hello,
I have a problem that I have been unable to resolve. I was given some information many years ago which at the time as I was newly interested in genealogy, I didn't realise the importance of sources.
The information I was given was that John Finlay Baseden's wife was Mary Ann Cadd. I have never found a marriage for them or Mary Ann's baptism. John was born at Wittersham, Kent. I have just found John Baseden in the Woodchurch Local and Family History website in Banns 1754-1872 index for Woodchurch. John Baseden's intended wife was Mary Ann Gadd and they were married at Peasmarsh, Sussex in 1822. Mary Baseden was born in Peasmarsh according to the 1851 census. So I assume Mary Ann Cadd was really Mary Ann Gadd.
Does anyone have access to the Peasmarsh baptism and marriage records? I would really appreciate a lookup if possible to see if it was Gadd or Cadd.
Thanks,
Leigh
