Tunbridge Wells Motorcycle Death
« on: Tuesday 18 December 12 22:21 GMT (UK) »
I am in Australia and trying to find out more about the death of my father's brother in 1913. His name was Alfred Sharp.
I have a copy of his Entry of Death.  It states his date of death was 17/2/1913 at General Hospital Tunbridge Wells he was 18.
Cause of death was shown as Died from fracture of the skull caused by an accident whilst riding a motor cycle.
Under description of informant it says Certificate received from Thomas Buss Coroner for Kent Inquest held 18 February 1913.

I am seeking further information as firstly he originated from Lincolnshire. Secondly one of my brothers has said that our dad suggested Alfred committed suicide.

Can anybody tell me if the coroner findings are available and if so where and how I would find out what they said.
Also if newspapers of the day exist which could have contained mention of the event and where and how I would find it if they did.

Tunbridge Wells Library would be your best bet for newspaper reports http://www.kent.gov.uk/KCC.Libraries.Web.Sites.Public/LibraryDetails.aspx?aid=0&lid=99&uprn=100062541606

Survival of Coroners' Inquests reports for Kent is very sketchy but the newspaper reports are usually more informative anyway.
