Has anyone ever dealt with the College of Arms, and if so, can you advise me on the best way to approach them?  My approach doesn't seem to have worked!

Thanks!
Bridget

I think this may be better on a different board as it is not really related exclusively to London/Middx. The Common Room perhaps?

One of the moderators may move it for you if they feel it should be elsewhere.

I would ask the questions: Why do you wish to contact them? And can you afford their fees?

Look first at their FAQ page! ;D

Thanks for the responses.  I'm researching a pedigree that was created in the late 1880s (by the Lancaster Herald), and that has a number of errors.  Some of the sources are inaccurate; some of the sources, if they ever existed, no longer seem to.  A year ago I contacted the College of Arms, hoping for answers to some of my questions.  I received a very pleasant and friendly response from the officer, who asked me for specific questions, and he'd see if he could find the answers for me.  I sent him the relevant questions; he said he'd look into them, and I've never heard back.
