Am trying to locate Francis Place in Stratford as listed on 1861 census.
I have 1867 street map and I am guessing its the unmarked narrow lane of 12 + 1 houses running East-West behind East side of Francis Street. But it could be Gilby Alley based on below
Looking at the enumerator's route they have gone as follows:
- Elizabeth Gardens
- Francis Street
- Francis Place (13 dwellings)
- Caroline Villa (5 dwellings)
- Whitehall (5 dwellings)
- Gilby Alley (11 dwellings)
and then on to Leytonstone Road
