Shilton and Mincher Tattenhill
« on: Friday 21 December 12 21:30 GMT (UK) »
Banns were published for William Shilton from Tattenhill and Mary Mincher in 1804.  Mary was from the Parish of Pankridge.  Does anyone know if there was a Pankridge in Staffordshire as I am only coming up with hampshire which seems unlikely.

It is Penkridge in Staffordshire, I think.  I have Mincher ancestors in Kinver (Kinfare) Staffs
Perrins - Manchester and Staffs
Honan - Manchester and Ireland
Hogg - Manchester 19 cent
Anderson - Newcastle mid 19 cent
Boullen - London then Carlisle then Manchester
Comer - Manchester and Galway

Tattenhill could be Tettenhall, on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, both places are on the Staffs and Worcester canal

I think it may be Penkridg for Mary Mincher.  William Shilton and shilton family are definitely Tattenhill and Dunstall not Tettenhall

Thanks

Hi comeonfrank

The family I am interested in is James and Frances Shilton who had 11 children one of whom was William married to Mary Mincher who also had 11 children.  One of these children was another James who married Mary Brown who had 7 children.  I do have quite a lot of information about Shiltons in Tattenhill so if you let me know your great grandmother's name and any dates i can see if i can see if have anything else on her or other possible family members.

children:
Hannah                 Emma  Arthur Elizabeth
c1858                   c1864  c1866  c1869

            Fred   ----- Frances
           c1862         c1864

Children: Frances  Mary   Charles  Edith    Fred    Etty    Ethel  Elsie
              c1889    1891   c1895    c1897  c1898  c1900  ???     ???

My Great Grandmother was Mary Shilton 1891- 1941

Iam sure there must be a connection somewhere as Tattenhill is such a small village
