Searching for ancestors of William Elbourn (1772 – 1850) who married Susannah Marshall 1794 in Stapleford, parents of Naomi Elbourn (1815 – 1891), who married Peter Dean (1824 – 1872) in Stapleford

I have Susannah Marshall’s (1773 – 1849) parents as John Marshall (1746 – 1813) and Rachel Squires (1755 –  ) from Stapleford.

You could try the FreeREG site. I had a quick look at the baptisms, and there are 6 children born to John and Elizabeth Elbourn between 1767 and 1778. Didn't see a William though.

Thanks for this, Rosie! It is definitely a possibility. I’m checking it out, even though I don’t have a James Elborn b. ~1745 in my tree.  I did however find his marriage to Elizabeth Spencer  27 June 1769 P. St. Edwards, Cambridgeshire, England  (Marriages at Curry Rivel, 1642 to 1812.)

I have several dozen Elbourns from the Little and Great Shelford area, but I have been unable to connect them to my line in Stapleford (possibly originating in Whittlesford).

…and yes, I have Marshals back to Robert Marshall, my 5th great grandfather, Birth abt 1720 in Cambridgeshire England. Death: ?  Spouse: Mary Noble1720 – 1779

Rachel Marshall was buried in Stapleford 24 April 1823 age 76 which would make her bn around the same time as John.  When & where was John christened.

Can't see that marriage in the Curry Rivel index.  The church there is St Andrew.  I think there must have been a transcribing error somewhere.   A long way from Cambridge.   Where did you find it?

Thanks  sillgen, I found that one, but I’m interested in the reference in the Cambridgeshire Records that refers to  (Marriages at Curry Rivel, 1642 to 1812.)
