Hi, i have an ancester john Emmerson who, according to his sons batism certificate, was born in Storys's buildings, sunderland 1815- 1818.

the family lived Bishopwearmouth and i have found on the British newspaper archive the following:

Mr William Story Deceased All persons having any debt against or claims upon Mr WILLIAM STORY, of Bishopwearmouth, deceased, are requested immediately to send their Accounts, with the Particulars of their respective Demands, to Mr Thos. Wardell, Grocer, Story's Buildings, Bishopwearmouth, Bishopwearmouth, 19th March, 1829.

so - i know the buildings were somewhere in BWM - any further info anyone please?

Storey's Buildings were at the corner of Silksworth Row and Waterworks Road
Go to http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html?coords=439111,557042 they are opposite the Infant School on the 1895 map

Would that John Emmerson be the future husband of Isabella Blakiston? His son Robert married into my Meggison family.

I have that John Sr. was from Barnard Castle and he married Isabella Blakiston. I don't have pob for John Jr. but I have Sunderland for his brother Robert who married Margaret Anne Meggison in 1880. All of Robert and Margaret Anne's children born Sunderland.
