Address Check - Mansfield

Is there/was there a Broxtowe Drive, Mansfield? Just got army record back of my husbands grandad, and cant read the writing very well. If its not Broxtowe, what could it be? Seen Broxton Drive on 1901censusonline, but doesnt go upto no. 92

Hi,

on www.streetmap.co.uk  there is a Broxtowe Drive in Mansfield.

It doesn't let you put in street numbers, so you would need someone with more local knowledge to check out number 92.

Thanks Sue, hhhmm, it cant have been around at the time of the 1901 census then, I assume, because nothing came up for that address......this was the address he gave his father living at, in 1922 when he joined the Territorial Army, maybe he wasnt even from that county!!! back to the drawing board.....

We have a street map of Mansfield dated 1912 and can confirm that Broxtowe Drive was definitely there then. Sorry I cannot confirm numbers.

If you enter Brox***** and then Mansfield on the official 1901 site you will get Broxstowe Drive numbers 1- 12 coming up so presume rest of houses weren't yet built.

That address search is a bit dodgy to use.

Last weeks MANSFIELD CHAD showed a map of Mansfield town centre for 1823 and astreet index. Though Broxtowe Drive is off this map the street is listed.
There are three maps in the set bought by a lady in charity shop. Does any one kmowof other copiesforsale?
