I can see a Herbert John ASHBY in Arthur Rd, Mt Roskill, Manakua, Auckland in 1914. He's a baker!

Hmm going to my original post again it states a daughter of George as Mrs Ryder Auckland just done marriage search and a May Naomi Ashby marrys an Albert Vincent Mills Ryder in 1907 in Auckland. So Herbert is not the only one in NZ.  :-\

A few. So I'm searching for Fanny Amelia Ashby instead.

In 1906 she was with our Baker Herbert John at Mt Roskill Road, Eden! Bingo!
I need to check further but my broadband is very slow this morning.

Emma, the children you found possibly for Herbert John Ashby....do you have any of their names?

There are two Herbert John ASHBYs living in the same area....one is a builder, the other a baker.
In 1919 Fanny Amelia is with the baker one, which makes sense considering his father's occupation. They're both at 227 Dominion Rd, Roskill. The other one, the builder is at Edendale.

In 1928 Herbert John ASHBY, baker, and Fanny Amelia ASHBY are at 215 Balmoral Rd, Eden. Listed at the same address are David Benjamin ASHBY, baker, Harold George ASHBY, baker, Herbert John ASHBY, chemist, and Sydney ASHBY, baker.
