Hughes/Hughes 1950 - Anglesey
« on: Thursday 10 January 13 19:05 GMT (UK) »
A long shot I know, but I wonder if anyone can help. I have drawn a blank researching my relative Margaret Hughes born (*) in Warrington.
She married Gwynne Nathan Hughes on (*) and thereafter all my efforts to trace her have drawn blank.
At the time of his marriage, Gwynne was a civil servant who lived at Greenwich House, Llangefni (sorry, I can't quite make out that spelling) and was the son of George Nathan Hughes a watchmaker. He had a brother called Ronald Nathan Hughes.
I would appreciate any help where to look, I have found no deaths for Margaret and I'm wondering if they divorced and she re-married and would have another name.
Many thanks for reading this.

Hi luciealexa

Rootschat isn't really a forum for finding living/missing people and looking at the names and dates (which have been removed) above, there is every chance these people may still be alive. Genes Reunited might be a more appropriate forum for you.

Unfortunately Hughes is a frequently occuring surname and you will have difficulty with research.

The trick here would be to track down Gwynn or someone else in his family especially if they have middle names.

There are no death entries upto 2006 for Gwynn or Ronald, so they may be alive or they may have emigrated so they won't appear in the records for England & Wales. They could also have gone to Scotland but nothing obvious is showing up on a free search.

I haven't used this myself but there is a free trial here

We do have information on finding people here

Good luck

Hi Dawn
I do apologise, I wasn't thinking properly about that possibility.
I really appreciate your hints and tips and will certainly follow these up.
Regards
LA.
