Bridget Crahan in Navan
« on: Friday 03 June 05 16:06 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I'm trying to find any information at all about Bridget Crahan before she moved to Lancashire, England.   She was born abt. 1840 in Navan, I am unable to find her marriage in England as yet so I don't know her Father's name.   Perhaps somebody in Ireland is researching the Crahan family, it's quite an unusal name.

Regards.

Marie.

 There is a gap In the Navan church records from the 1820s to 1850s.
 However there were a number of Crahan families living in the Oristown/Wilkinstown area which is just outside Navan.
 (Ref; Church Records,Griffiths Valuation, Flax Growers 1796, Census 1901.)
 There is just one Bridget Crahan listed in Oristown parish, the entry reads:-

 14th September 1835 - Bridget to Laurence Crahan and Mary Hickey.

 Hope the above information will be of use to you.
       Regards;
       The Wanderer.

Don't know if this helps but I knew a Pat Crahan from Gibbstown ( next to Oristown/Wilkinstown) and he must have been in his 50's in 1968.
