I am looking for any information on my Grand Uncle Herbert James Thom died 1972 in South east Surrey Ex Indian Police Force or his family.  In 1943 he was Assistant Inspector General of Police Criminal Investigation Department, United Provinces India

No birth reg in England or Wales for him but a 1901 Scottish census entry shows he was b Scotland
