1841-1851 census, Drew Family, Tudeley area

I am looking for the following family from Tudeley who may have been there in 1841:

Thomas and Ann Drew, married 1815 in Tudeley, no other details
Elizabeth Drew, daughter, born 1818
Marianne Drew, daughter, born 1820
Susannah Drew, daughter, born 1822
James Drew, son, born 1826
Thomas Drew, son, born 1828
Naomi Drew, daughter, born 1830
Mercy Drew, daughter, born 1833

All children were born in Tudeley and thus, Kent.


Any such census info is appreciated

If anyone is succesful with this, 1851 census info would also be useful, particularly if Thomas and Ann are still alive.

Hi Mark,
The only Drew left in Tudeley in 1841 is Susannah:
ref HO107 463-12 folio 17: Whetstead Borough, Tudeley
Susannah Drew age 20
born in county
lodging with William and Ann Neal.

Any clues where else they might be ? Have you got them on any subsequent censuses. Please post if you've any more details and I'll try again for you.

The only other member of the family I have found in appropriate censuses is daughter Martha, who I did not put on my original query, as she married Edward Crayford in Tudeley in 1834. 

They were living in East Peckham/Nettlestead in 1841.

It is difficult to say whether the Drews had moved or not, but the best I can assume is that they were at least in the Tudeley area in 1841.

I don't know if there is a surname index available for Kent in 1841, but if there is, I guess that is my best bet.

There is no surname index for the whole of Kent 1841 at present.  At best, there may be a surname index for some local areas at the main local library for the area concerned.

I've had a quick look in the parishes around Tudeley for you and found the following:
ref HO107 457-01 folio 5:Church farm, Capel
Thomas Drew age 13 ag lab born in county, in the employ of James Sivyer ? farmer
No sign of anyone else I'm afraid.

As per the original request, I've been through the 1851 census of Tudeley, and also tried Capel, Nettlestead and East Peckham. Martha and family were in East Peckham, but no sign in any parish for any other Drew family members. I'm afraid I'll have to admit defeat with this family, sorry I can't help any more.
