Robert Middleton Sr

born 1813 in Cluny, Aberdeenshire Scotland.  I wanted to find out his father and mother's names and DOB.  Can anyone help with this?

Looking on familysearch, https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XBQL-YJ3 one possibility is Robert Middleton, ch 25 Juk 1812, Cluny, parents Robert Middleton and Helen Garden.

Depending on when he died, you might be in the realms of official records which I seem to think started in c. 1850.  In which case, his death cert should give you his parents names (including his mother's maiden name).  Of course, the info is only a good as the informants knowledge.

do you have any census giving occupation?  there are 3 possible deaths between 1878 -1884 in Aberdeenshire for Robert Middletons. they give occupation + parent details.

i can see some census on A* - who did he marry?

Hi all ,

Think Robert's wife was Jane Grant(b. c1827).
Can't see Robert on the 1881 Census , there is a Jane Middleton age 55 showing as widowed.
Scotlandspeople has a Robert Middleton death 1878 St Nicholas Aberdeen , born c1814.
Think Robert and Jane were in St. Nicholas in 1871.

this is great info.  I believe you've got it ev, most that I knew was his wife's name, Jane.  Now I have dob and maiden name and the dod.
