Hello, I am looking for assistance in pinpointing the location of death for James E Davenport. 

James E. Davenport

b. 24 Jan 1890 Cambridge, Mass, USA (son of Frank H Favenport & Marie Anna Conway)
d. 11 Aug 1940 (believed to be Manhattan, New York, New York, USA)
burial: Forestdale Cemetery, Malden, Mass, USA

1920 Census - James E Davenport lived in Malden, Mass - Occupation "Cutter"; Industry "Rubber Shoe"
1940 Census - James E Davenport "lived" in the US Veterans Hospital in Altamont, Franklin, New York - Occupation "Shoe Cutter"; Industry "Shoe"

I spoke to the Forestdale Cemetery contact today who stated they had the location of death listed as "Manhattan".  I am wondering if anyone is headed to the Municipal Archives in NYC, would they be willing to look up his information on the microfilm and confirm if he indeed died in Manhattan.  I am trying to locate a death certificate, but do not know if I should go through the state for Altamont or the city for Manhattan.
