Jack Loader?
« on: Wednesday 23 January 13 12:11 GMT (UK) »
Hi, some very nice people on here helped me start the trace for my paternal grandmothers family, can anyone help with my grandfather? His name was Jack Loader, born in 1908 in Denton or Risbridge area. He married twice, 1st was wife was named Alice but I am unsure of her surname and the second was Nesta Bailey, my grandmother. I know he had siblings but am not sure how many and have no clue about his parentage. Can anyone help?

Have you tried looking for his marriage/s here:
http://www.freebmd.org.uk/
It's always a good place to start.

Hello,

you can also look for him here in 1911 http://www.1911census.co.uk/

If you find him, you can put his name on 'other persons in household' and just search for Loader, you may get the members of his family.
You can download the information for a small fee.

regards
heywood

Benjamin rings a bell! I have had a quick look at BMD but seem to be a little lost I can find his birth on a list but can't view any information about it! I believe he had quite a large family sibling wise but again I could be wrong!

You need to purchase the certificate to view the details. What you can see is just the index.

Thanks JJ! I know that his first wife passed away as my father was born in 1956 and I know my grandfather pursued my grandmother for a few years before she agreed to marry him!

Hi

The information on freebmd is an index, to see the actual certificate and more details means you have to but a copy from the General Register Office which will cost £9.25.

You should be able to find him on the 1911 census as mentioen by heywood, then go back to freebmd and look for his parents marriage, note his mothers surname and then you'll be able to able to find siblings after 1911. The mothers maiden surname is recorded in the birth index from the end of 1911.

Persevere with freebmd, it's a great free resource and doing this yourself if quite rewarding.

Do come back though if you get stuck, but we can't help anymore with the 1911 census due to the terms and conditions of the sites who provide the information.
