Humphreys (My paternal GGfather)
« on: Wednesday 23 January 13 23:47 GMT (UK) »
I've started researching my roots again after a long rest from delving through census records etc. I've again come up against a brick wall trying to find my GGfather's wedding cert. He was Henry George Humphreys born Liverpool circa 1864 and married Elizabeth born Milford Haven c 1868. I think I found Henry in Milford in the 1881 census (RG11/5415) residing at Charles St Steynton Milford. I'm almost certain I have the family Henry, Elizabeth and daughter Mary Jane (my grandmother) in the 1891, 1901 and 1911 census records of Llanelly living at Water St and New road. The certificate hopefully will give both Henry and Elizabeth's fathers names so I can go further back into the family tree.

Hope you can all help as you did with my Jones tree last year.

Regards Trevor W

Many thanks Ciderdrinker for all your research. I've printed off your posts and will try to piece together the family links. The Henry you found looks to be the right one as he was 8 in the 71 census and 18 in the 1881 census I found. The puzzling thing is the different spelling of Humphreys and Humphries, this could be down to the census returns official who did the actual recording of the data.
Again many thanks, I'll update you of my successes (and failures).
