I am looking for father of John Lewis.

& John Lewis wife  Jane Lewis maiden name.

Hi if I am looking at the correct 1871 Census in Rotherham RG10/4708/23/39 then John was born in Bridgnorth?

in 1861 Census Ref RG09/2029/99/10 their is a John LEWES 21 occ Forgeman b Bridgnorth shown as lodger at Mill Top, West Bromwich

that's right  1871 census, John Lewis birth abt 1841 in Bridge North, Shropshire.  occ pudler

Looks like he was living with his uncle aged 2, its going to be difficult to find his father and mother.

Possible baptism for JOHN LEWIS -  22nd August 1838 at St. Leonards, Bridgnorth, Shropshire - mother Betty Lewis.

In the 1841 Census he is 2 years old and in the next 12 years old so this could be him.
