Where was Ben born COMPLETED with great speed !
« on: Monday 28 January 13 12:51 GMT (UK) »
This is from the 1841 census- all the children were born in Middelsex (Chelsea).
But what does it say for their dad Benjamin,is that a N or a Y?

Grandma Ann Silk was not born in the county of Middx.

Thanks

Carol

Looks like a Y to me.

Oops looking at the wrong Ben, hmm doesn't look like the other Y's.Looks more like the N at the bottom with a squiggle after it.

I have to go for N.

He says he was born Uppingham Rutland on the 1851 census.

Thanks guys - I know he says Uppingham later but I'm trying to convince my friend in NZ whose ancestor this is that he starts off in 1841 saying he was born outside of Middx  ;D

I was convinced it was a N..........she has now posted a look up on the Rutland board.

Now others think the same as me I think she'll buy that !!!
