where,s my school gone?

 ???what has happened to my school parkside  cp in heaton park.I went past the site a few days ago and nearly crashed the car.did I just miss it or has it gone.I lived on the bury old rd prefab estate from 1952 until they were being pulled down mid 60,s.

Probably knocked down for housing.  My husband's school in Sale Cheshire was built on land given for educational purposes only.  However, the council decided that the land would realise a lot of money in a good part of Sale, so they managed to overturn the covenant, the school was knocked down and houses built on the land and all the playing fields.  Meanwhile, the school was amalgamated with the girls' school.

Have you tried looking on Google Earth to see if it is still there? Look on Friends' Reunited as well, there is a page about it with memories etc.

It's disgusting isn't it, local councils can do as they please . 
Governments tell us our children are unfit and fat but who sold off the playing fields ? 
We had a major fight locally some years ago to save the playing fields of the local Middle school; the land is worth millions to developers so how long they manage to hang on to it goodness knows.
