Ruff family information

Trying to find some information on my great uncle Alfred William Ruff from Peckham Rye.  Came to Canada in the early 1900's.  I know he was a carpenter and his sister was my grandmother Rose Elizabeth Ruff.  Any info would be helpful.

On July 26th 1885 at Christchurch, Camberwell, three children of George ( carpenter) and Lydia Ruff were baptised. Their adress looks like  188 Commercial Road.
Alfred William born Oct 25 ? 1878 , Percival Alexander born Dec 18th 1881 , Leonard Horatio born 5th June 1885,
 Alfred is still living with at home  in 1901, his father is a widower.
Thats all I can find on him.

Leonard Horatio is still in the UK in 1911, he married Beatrice Evelyn Lambert in 1910. He died in 1950, left effects of £1346 to his widow and Beatrice Mary, spinster, presumably his daughter.

Thank you for the information.  I am new to this and am curious how you find this information?  I would also like to research my fathers history but there are not a lot of records as he was a farmer in Poland when the war broke out.

All of the censuses are only available on pay pay view/subscription sites such as Find my past and ancestry.co. There are free sites such as FreeBMD for births, marriages and deaths, Freereg for parish registers, freecen for some census records, familysearch.org where you can get baptisms, marriages, burials and the 1881 census for free (also free on ancestry and findmypast)
Another good place to look is on the resources pages on Rootschat  :) and of course all rootschatters love to help and you will pick up tips as you go along.

All the men are carpenter joiners

I have no idea about Polish research. Maybe find the appropriate board on Rootschat and ask for help there?

Alfred Ruff b. 1878 London  arrived in Quebec May 21st 1904. Occupation Carpenter. Ship Lake Manitoba
Canadian Voters Registar: Alfred in 1940 in Broadview Ontario Carpenter. Same address in 1945 :)

He must have had a trip home cos he is a Canadian citizen in 1908 going back to Toronto
