Census lookup please for 1841 for John Wesson of Earith
« on: Saturday 04 June 05 16:27 BST (UK) »
Would any kind person have access to the 1841 or earlier census for Earith or Bluntisham-cum-Earith.
This gentleman is my Gt GT grandfather, I have him on all census from 1881, 1871.1861, and 1851 where he is shown living at Back Lane , Earith with his wife Phoebe and their first 2 children. he was an Ag lab.
He has always stated that he was born in Earith, but even with kind help from others I cant place his parents. In 1851 he says his age is 34yrs.

On the 1851 census after the folio number 267b it states shed 46 , would these have actually been sheds or cottages hope some one with a local knowledge would be able to enlighten me, cheers Liverbirds.

All I could see was as follows (in 1841 ages over 15 should have been rounded down to the nearest 5 below, so for example 20 could be anywhere between 20 and 24):

High St Bluntisham
Robert Wheston 60 butcher born in Hunts
Catherine Wheston 55 born in Hunts
Rebecca Wheston 14 FS born in Hunts

East End, Bluntisham,
John Waston 20 MS born in Hunts
in household of Jane Feary 74 Ind not born in Hunts

North End, Earith
James Weston 53 blacksmith born in Hunts
Sarah Weston 55 born in Hunts

Probably not a lot of help!

Regards

David

Hi David, thank you so much for the lookup I appreciate it very much, as you say it doesn't tie in to well but I will print it out and keep for future reference, you never know when a small detail becomes important. Regards Liverbirds :)
