Wangford Parish Registers "COMPLETED"

Look Up Request please for Marriage of Betsey KING b about 1841 to William JENNINGS December quarter 1863. Looking for Parents names and if possible mothers maiden name along with dates and any other information. Wangford Parish, Suffolk

Hi

English marriage certs only show fathers name - never mothers name

Unless any local transcriptions exist - to lookup a marriage in the parish records you need to know which church it took place in

Wangford was the registration district for a lot of areas

As already explained 'Wangford' registration district covered many parishes (20 +) but I noted that the only Betsey King was bc.1842 Weston, Suffolk.   Weston is one of the parishes that comes under Wangford Registration District.

I checked and found an online tree - William Jennings married Betsey King 6/10/1863 Weston, Suffolk.

William Jennings bc.1841 Fewcott, Oxfordshire, son of William Jennings and Ann
Betsey King bc.1842 Weston, dau. of George King and Maria Read.

I think the wife of William Jennings senior could be an Ann Mullet - census shows she was bc.1805 Hazelbury Bryan, Dorset and an Ann Fetham Mullet bp.17/2/1805 Hazelbury Bryan, Dorset, dau. of John and Kitty.

In 1841 Census at Stoke Lyne, Oxfordshire - ref. HO107 - 887 - 9 - 6 - 23

Ann Jennings  35      Ind.       Not born in county
William Jennings 6 months     Born in county
Susanna Mullet  8                  Not born in county

Susanna possibly illegitimate dau of Ann.   Don't know where William, her husband, was but she is shown 'Ind.' (i.e. Independent, which basically means she had an income - no doubt supported by her husband - and therefore although not working herself she was not a drain on the parish resources).

Have now found the marriage:

William Jennings married Ann Feltham Mullett 29/7/1832 All Souls, St Marylebone, London

I have probably maligned Ann unfairly as found:

Susanna Mullet b.13/5/1833, bp.7/7/1833 also at All Souls, St. Marylebone, London, dau. of James and Sarah.   Therefore, Susanna Mullet probably her niece.

Many Thanks Annette, The information was just what I was hoping for, The Susanna Mullet found in the 1841 census I found with her father James in the 1851 census. I assume her mother died when she was a child, and William Jennings was found as a Servant Groom in Lord Peyton's estate at Ardley in the 1841 census.
