O'Neill Warrenpoint
« on: Friday 08 February 13 21:58 GMT (UK) »
I am seeking information on a Susan O'Neill born about 1860 (+/_ a few years) in Co Down, she is believed to have lived in Warrenpoint. The only information I have relating to her is from her marriage record where her parents are recorded as George and Mary O'Neill. Susan came to Co. Wicklow probably around late 1870s or early 1880s to care for 2 elderly relatives with the surname White living in the Roundwood/Glendalough area of Wicklow. In 1888 she married a local man William Carr in the Roman Catholic church in Roundwood Co. Wicklow. The only family information passed down was that she was from Warrenpoint Co Down, her entry in the 1901 census in Wicklow records she was born in Co Down.If anyone out there has connections with an O'Neill family in the Warrenpoint area of Co. Down around that time, or perhaps anyone with Co Down connections to a White family in Co. Wicklow around that time I would love to hear from you, or anyone with suggestions how I might proceed . I have checked out possible church records on rootsireland but did not find any likely matches.

I posted the above message, but forgot to ask which roman catholic parish/s would have covered the Warrenpoint area in the mid to late 1800s, and what was the local RC cemetery at that time.
Thanks Margaret
