Anything to do with family history is worth looking in to, it's like being a detective! ;)

Let me know if you'd like any further help.

Regards

Sandra

Sandra,

If I get true this, I should get my detective license for free ;D

any help is highly appreciated, if I could only find either one of them
in 1881 or 1891 (John and Sarah)

the lostcousins.com team will help me with the rest

I'm going to order from GRO but I have to specify
3 specific years for them to look at (which is it going to be ?!!)

wonder where I could look for widows in 1891 ?

Cheers,

Rob

If you read previous postings Rob you'll see that I've already put Sarah Williams on from the 1881.

Hi Rob,

Just one little question: How sure are you that the one John Bates who can be traced right age/right birth place through the censuses (at one point married to Isabella) and who has a brother named Adam is not your man? Is your information source 100% reliable, according to you?

Tanja,

I've been in touch with the Grand daughter of Arthur Amison Bates,
son of Isabella.

John Bates (Isabella's John) died in 1904 but they had more children
like in 1892 and 1895 and even in 1901.

So either he had a double life or he is not the one (which is what I think)
check this web site address for details, maybe I've forgot to overlook something:
http://www.amisonfamilytree.co.uk/paf-files/thomas-amison/pafg09.htm#421

I was lucky to have found that and being able to talk with a Carroline (gdaughter)

Cheers,

Well, if she's positive about this... Do I understand that Isabella and John emigrated (leaving son Arthur behind?) or why can't she be found in 1901?
Oh, whatever!!
Hope you'll solve this mystery.

Yes they did around 1907, well she did with 4 of her children !
after John had died (most of the Amison where in the US)

Arthur remained behind and even changed his name back to Amison after her mother told him, before he got married, that he was born out of wedlock.
(John not being the father)

So that his precise enough, ain't it ?!!

even if I have a hard time finding the right track, what an adventure this his
getting to be !!!

just hope there is no "murder" mystery to solve on the way (joke !)

have a nice evening Tanja,

Rob
