Help please - where is (or was) this? COMPLETED

Hi all

My mother passed away last week and I am now going through her extensive collection of photographs, mostly from the 1950s and mostly taken at locations which can be established quite easily. One small set of seaside snaps however has me stumped. I'm led to believe they were taken at a Welsh resort, and I hope the image linked to below will be easily recognised by some kind soul who can tell me where the pic was taken.

With the aid of Google Image Search I've managed to answer my own question - Swansea!

I figured that as Mum and her parents lived in north Shropshire they would head up Watling Street to one of the north Wales resorts for their hols, but evidently this was not the case.
