Frances Peckett Cartwright, b. 1848 Norton, Yorks

I am trying to follow the above, she is on Free BMD, ref. 24/490, and on FamilySearch as "Pickett". in
1851, at home as daughter, 1871, i think she is a lodger in Manningham, from there she seems to disappear ?
                 Suggestions please, bodger

Shown as daughter in 1851 and as son in 1861 and daughter on baptism

Have you checked freebmd for a marriage between 1871-1881

Like you having trouble finding her in 1881. Have looked at a couple of marriage possibilities on FreeBMD but they aren't checking out on the 1881 census.

The 1871 shows her living in the Bradford RD and there is a Frances Cartwright marriage there in the September qtr 1871

Have you already ruled that out?

She married Richard Normington 2.12.1871 - father is shown as Thomas occ sawyer - same as 1861 entry

You should now be able to find her from 1881 onwards

No worries bodger. I did spend a while trying to find Frances and Richard in the later censuses but no luck. I did find a frances with the right credentials but she was married to a William Ardlington and if I recall there was a marriage of another Frances Cartwright about the same time.
