I am so grateful to you all -  it all falls into place now.

Carol thank you - I'm sure your right about it saying  from the same place - don't know why I didn't think about that myself.

Some time ago, I had saved this census record for 1841 but wasn't sure it was the right, as the place name on the embarkation record had me in doubt, it now fits with where Anne's mother should have been in 1841. Also the 1851 record fits.

I had also saved the christening records from IGI - RE: children of Anne McColl & Alexander Henderson. These also now fit.

Many thanks to all for the help

Regards
Gwenneth

Donald McPherson and Anne Henderson's daughter Flora McPherson was christened at Acharacle in 1830, the year after the church there was built. Her younger brother Alexander was also christened there in 1832. I have not been able to find christening records for Flora's older siblings, perhaps because they were born before the church was opened. Extract of record attached.

Hi and Welcome  :)

The nearest that I can find close by is Resipol(e) on the shores of Loch Sunart - to the south east of Acharacle

Thanks Gadget - sounds likely - I notice that many of the christenings shown on the page of records I have were from outside Acharacle itself.

Having a problem with another place name/word on Anne's mothers death certificate?
It was registered - at Kilchoan (Western District, parish of Ardnamurchan, county Argyll, Scotland)

Thank you all once again for your help

I think it says Port Uarice, (merged into one reading Portuarice) which is the Scots Gaelic for Portuairk.
