Cemetery Visit/Photo Request - Twickenham & Richmond
« on: Sunday 03 March 13 16:37 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I'd be really grateful if anyone can help with obtaining photographs of the following  3 headstones?? I am a long way from 'town' so unfortunately can't visit myself. The information I have is:

TWICKENHAM CEMETERY

Edwin (Edward) John CHAPPLE
b. Jan 1898   -   d. 1954
Section J, Grave P23

Thomas Horatio CHAPPLE
b.  1861  -  d.  Mar 1916
Sectin B, Grave D11 (class B)

RICHMOND CEMETERY

Thomas CHAPPLE
b.  Aug 1832  -  d.  Jul 1908
Section Q, Grave 3653

Many thanks in advance

Sean Chapple

Hi schapple

Welcome to rootschat  :)

Are you sure that there are headstones there to photograph.  Looking at the entry for Thomas Chapple at Richmond he is in with 5 others all buried within 10 days of each other who don't appear to be related so unlikely to have a headstone.

I have looked at the Twickenham ones as well  :)

This one is also in a grave with 5 others buried within days of each other
Thomas Horatio CHAPPLE b.  1861  -  d.  Mar 1916 Sectin B, Grave D11 (class B)

As for Edwin, it might be an idea if you check with the cemetery  to make sure that there is a gravestone before someone makes a special journey for you.

Thank you very much for the reply and steer.

I wasn't aware that that they were buried together and assumed they would be individually marked.  But you know what they say about 'assume'!

Is the information that you uncovered readily accessible online and does it hold any information beyond what I furnished - I'm relatively new to family researching.

Hi Sean

I looked on here London Boro of Richmond's website, which is where I had assumed you had the info from.

http://www.rootschat.com/links/0t1t/

when I clicked Thomas Chapple's name it brought up

'Also in this grave'
Deceased          Date of Burial Gender Age
Thomas Chapple 25/03/1916   Male      54 Years
plus others which I won't list in case of copyright
