Bromley St Leonards Poor Law Union
« on: Thursday 07 March 13 00:15 GMT (UK) »
Is there anywhere I might access the records of the Bromley St Leonards Poor Law Union from around 1823-1827? I am looking to find the Eliza Marshall listed below (from a Baptismal Record) who may or may not have an entry.

Mother's name:    Eliza Marshall
Parish or Poor Law Union:    Bromley St Leonard St Mary
Borough:    Tower Hamlets

milford, greenhalgh, childs, norman, (england) tripcony, drew, thomas, boddy (cornwall), hendry, harrold, riach, gray, grant (scotland)

If anything survives from such an early date it will most probably be deposited at the London Metropolitan Archives.

thank you dawnsh, as I mentioned, just wondering if there was any Eliza Marshall named in the Poor Law records. I realise it is a long shot, but trying not to leave any stone unturned...

Poor Law Unions in England & Wales were established in 1834, anything prior to that would be contained in any surviving parish chest documentation.

You can have a look at the LMA catalogue for information, the parish reference number is P88/MRY2

Also try St Leonards Shoreditch.
