Hello, I am hoping to confirm the existance for a birth certificate for James E Davenport.
Confirmed information:
Father: Frank Henry Davenport
Mother: Marie Anna Conway Davenport
1900 US Census - Age: 10; Birthplace: Massachusetts
1910 US Census - Age: 19; Birthplace: Massachusetts
m. 10 Oct 1913 (Helen Lawlor) - Marriage record lists birthplace as 'Cambridge' - Age @ time of marriage: 23; 1913-23 = 1890.
WWI Draft Registration Card: Date of Birth: 24 Jan 1890; Birthplace: Cambridge, Mass
1920 US Census - Age: 29; Birthplace: Massachusetts
1930 US Census - Age: 40; Birthplace: Massachusetts
1940 US Census - Age: 50; Birthplace: Massachusetts
I sent a req to the Town Clerk's office in Cambrige and was advised that they could not locate a birth record despite searching 1889 - 1891.
Further, there is a Frank Davenport who lived @ 124 Gore Street, Cambridge in 1890 & 1891 (occupation: baggage master) - per the Cambridge City Directories, which would seem to confirm Cambridge as the location of birth of the son, James E. Frank Davenport is no longer listed in the 1892 Cambridge city directory.
Frank H. Davenport (baggage master) is listed as living in Malden in 1893 per the city directory (25 Feb) on his naturalization document.
If someone can help confirm if one exists for me - maybe through the clerk indices, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Ben
Thanks,
