Sevenoaks War Memorial: Are you related to these men?
« on: Tuesday 12 March 13 19:53 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I'm looking for anyone with links to the 225 men listed on the Sevenoaks War Memorial for the First World War as well as those that returned. Would love to hear family stories and whether you have any photos as part of a project to write about and commemorate those who served locally, in time for next year's hundredth anniversary of the outbreak of hostilities.

Also keen to hear of anyone with a connection to the Knole House estate of Lord Sackville, especially those who fought as well as those with a general link.

Would any and all information offered be available free (and if so by what means) to the general public or is this a commercial enterprise?

The post is actually about a couple of projects, albeit with some crossover. One in conjunction with Knole House, one with local papers and also as a potential publication, if there is sufficient interest, which would cost a modest fee around £5 ish but with significant royalties going toward forces charities such as the British Legion and Help for Heroes.

Nothing finalised yet but I would want to make all info as widely available as possible.

Good evening,

I have only just seen your post, I would normally advise looking at the following site; http://www.roll-of-honour.com/ . However, Sevenoaks doesn't seem to be on it but I assume you mean this one; http://maps.google.co.uk/

Sorry, that link didn't work, will try another; http://www.panoramio.com/photo/54157533
