TWITCHETT birth date

Greetings, i am looking for the Essex birthdate of Frances Amelia Twitchett. She (of the parish of Ashen) married James Meers at Ashen, Essex on 9 Nov 1807.  A possible birth date of ~1789 is suggested by her death age (42) at Stoke by Clare, Suffolk in June of 1831.  Conflicting info suggestes that she may have been born at Ovington.

Hi Sue,
Thank you for the suggested birthdate. However, with all respect, the problem i have with it is that it suggests a 15-year old Frances Twitchett marrying a 30-year old James Meers?

Have you considered that she might not have been christened when she was a baby, but as an older child.  This was a christening date, not a birth date.

Sue, I understand that there is a problem with the above. That there is also a death of Frances daughter of John and Ann Twitchett who was buried on 8 Oct 1795.  Any help on clarifying this issue would be greatly appreciated.

You are correct, it just says Frances Twitchett daughter of John.

Might have some news for you....Francis daughter of John and Ann Twitchett was baptised on 29th March 1792 in Ovington  Fiche number is 409/1/2 They had a son Thomas baptised on October 12th 1793 same fiche They were not all that clear to read but if you want me to check for anything else let me know
There were quite a few in Ashen mostly children of James and Rebecca Twitchett James and Sarah and James and Susan Could be the same james and sarah and susan died in childbirth I didnt spend too much time Im afraid as I was mainly looking for Francis Ashen Fiche 366/1/2
They may have these on Seax on line so you can look at them yourself at least you now have a starting point However i really dont mind looking in the Colchester Records again for you for anything specific

Hi Ronnie, sorry for the late response to your post, but I have been away on holidays.  I continue to search for Frances Amelia Twitchett who was born ~1789.  Confusing the matter is that there appears to be two Frances Twitchetts in the Ashen/Ovington records for this period of time.

1) Frances, probably a child (and likely the one baptised in Ovington on 29 Mar 1792), daughter of John and Ann Twitchett, buried on 8 Oct 1795;
2) Frances Amelia Twitchett (of the parish of Ashen, Essex), possibly born ~1789, married James Meers at Ashen on 9 Nov 1807, and buried [age 42] at Stoke by Clare, Suffolk on 15 June 1831.  Could the latter be a daughter of James and Rebecca Twitchett?
