House Values in 1932
« on: Saturday 23 March 13 00:01 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I have a death in 1932 on Storey Street, Apsley End.  In his Will he left £127, without purchasing a copy, would this amount have been enough for him to own his home.

Regards

You might find some information here:
http://projects.exeter.ac.uk/RDavies/arian/current/howmuch.html

I am thinking that even if he did have enough money to own his own home, he still may not have done so. Alternatively, perhaps he did have real estate and only left £127 in a bank accounts. Eg, I have $37 dollars in the bank but I own my own home.  ;D Does the will say that £127 was the total amount of all his assets?

I'm probably the blind leading the blind here, but these are just my initial thoughts.

Hi

Thank you so much for replying.

I had the same thought, but there has been a family argument raging over it ever since [not my family] so I will have to get a copy of it, but you know what the anticipation is like lol

Oh that sounds intriguing. Yes, I think buying the will might answer all, or most, of your questions.  :) Let us know what it says (I'm nosey)
