Jenkins - New Jersey death & funeral notice

Hi,
I’m hoping to find the death / funeral notices for Reuben Jenkins died 1957 and his wife Edna who died July 1970 in New Jersey. They are buried at Van Liew Cemetery, New Brunswick, Middlesex, NJ.  Is there someone who could possibly do a lookup for me, or let me know if the notices might be online.  I’m in Australia and not familiar with US research.

I did a quick search and didn't turn up anything immediate beyond their memorials on Find A Grave.

Looks like they require genealogical requests to be done via mail, and the death records are closed until they are 50 years old, so Edna's would not be available.

Another thought:  you might e-mail the cemetery here and see what information they have.  If nothing else, they might be able to give you dates of interment, which would give you a more accurate date of death:

The Social Security Death Index gives Edna's place of last residence as Milltown, New Jersey.

The 1940 Census has Edna & Reuben in North Brunswick, New Jersey.

A 1949 New Brunswick city directory lists Reuben & Edna.

The New Brunswick public library says they can assist with general research requests, so you might want to try contacting them.  http://nbfpl.org/local.html  I think New Brunswick is a larger town around there, so it might have their obits in their papers even if they lived in a smaller nearby town.

Thankyou both for the suggestions.   
I have emailed the cemetery asking for interment dates and once I have those (here's hoping) then I will email the library and ask them to look for an obit/death notice.
Dont think there is much more I can do at this stage.

I have found Edna's Social Security death index info, but cant find one for Reuben.  Were they not available in 1957?

With a few rare exceptions, the Social Security death index that's available covers 1962 to the present.

Hi,
I have heard from the very kind people at Van Liew Cemetery who have provided dates of death & also burial dates for Reuben & Edna.  Now I can email the library and ask for a lookup of death / funeral notices.  Both funerals were conducted by Crabiel Funeral Homes.
