Birth look-up please - Puzzle
« on: Tuesday 07 June 05 20:46 BST (UK) »
Hello

Please could some one look up a birth for me?  FreeBMD doesn't seem to be complete for this period and I want to be sure I know as many possibilities as possible before I begin to order the certificate/s.

John BATES
Baptised 18 May 1850, Yaxley, Northants (but it is near Peterborough)
Died 16 Aug 1913, aged 63 (as shown on headstone)

Parents Henry Bates & Ann Holden married 25 November 1850
Henry and Ann are shown on the 1851 census but without son John, Im wondering if he was born after 1851 census & baptised in 1851, but parish clerk wrote 1850 in error?

Thank you very much for anyone who can help me   ;D

Hi,

It seems you can view the whole of births 1850 on FreeBMD. Instead of clicking on 'search', choose the 'view images' option and go to births, 1850, etc.

Hope this helps
