Military Records FREE at " Find My Past " 22 - 26 April

  Military Records will be available to search , free of charge , at Find My Past  22 - 26 April.

  A wonderful chance to search through the records for your soldier relatives , especially if you are not sure of exact details. Remember , if your relative was killed in action, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site is also free and may / maynot  give more clues.

 Medal Card records are likely to be found  but Service records are a lot less likely as most were burnt as a result of WW2 bombings in London - less than 30% survive , but you can be lucky.

Findmypast doesn't have the surviving WW1 Service Records, they are on Ancestry

Hi Thommoje, I have tried to search for free at FindMyPast but it keeps taking me to the payment screen. Is there a code or something? It doesn't refer to it on the home page.

  Hi jmol17,
                Try Find My Past .com.au and if that still doesn`t work , you may have to Register. Doesn`t cost anything to do so . I am a regular user, Pay as you Go ,only , so they notified me this was happening.
                The free records include  Soldiers Who Died in the Great War
                                                    WW1 Draft Registration Cards - USA
                                                    New Zealand WW1 Soldiers
                                                    WW2 Army Enlistment Records - USA
                                                    Royal Air Force Muster Roll  1918      and more
                 Worth a look as it is free,
