"ENGLAND"
« on: Tuesday 23 April 13 05:11 BST (UK) »
Hi - I am tearing my hair out - Originally the England family had their roots in Derby but now we have our roots in Notts (Sutton in Ashfield)

I am looking for marriage records for 'ENGLAND" pre 1700  Sutton in Ashfield, and St John's Parish

I am trying to establish the relationship between Richard England married Mary (abt 1680ish) no record of marriage in Basford, but their children was all baptised there.
David England married Elizabeth Joliane 25 Aug 1683 basford
John England married Elyzabeth Northe 22nd Jan 1612, Robert England (Ingland) married Ane Pike 3rd July 1630 @ St Mary's Notts
Mary England married Ham Fillingham 7 April 1700, George England married Elizabeth Loggin 22nd Oct 1700  @ StPeters -

I would really appreciate any assistance you can give me - as I am really trying to find the link from Derby to Notts -

Many thanks Karen

Hi Karen

Sutton in Ashfield marriages are covered on the Notts FHS CD from 1572 - 1904 but no England marriage before 1700.  The earliest is 1762

On the Yesterday Journey site under the parish of Alfreton there is a settlement certificate for Wm England and wife, Basford 1731

There is a marriage on Family Search 1680 at Basford between Richard England and Anne Keele, could she be the mother of the earlier children , she dies June 1705 and he then marries Mary in July 1705.?

Sorry I'm going to confuse things now as there is also this marriage licence

Richard England of Basford, bac aged 25 & Mary Browne aged 25 of the same. 30 June 1686.

So it looks like there may have been 2 Richard's around at the same time.
