Hi Ken,

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there is an outside chance that I can get there this year.  I've heard that it's very big and very good but I've not actually been myself.

If you can only get to one family history fair make it the Yorkshire one.

All the UK family History magazines have stands as do the SoG, the Federation of FHS, Ancestry.com, the Family Records Centre and the National Archives as well as many many family history societies.

The question is not can you go ; but can you afford not to go. ;-))
Cheers

hi all,

i went last year, & shall  definately be going again.  lots of stands over 3 floors if i remember rightly, all the ones Guy mentioned are there, definately worth visiting to pick everyones brains if nothing else.  ;) Free parking last year, i think this year too, kids under 16 free & about 3 quid for adults.  will be taking a picnic & stopping all day, hopefully weather should stay good.

I found this recently in the UK BMD newsletter:

Notice from the UK-BMD Newsletter:

Dear all,
the UKBMD and Local BMD web sites which use the Cheshire BMD software
will be on display at the forthcoming Family History Fair at York
on Saturday 25th June. See http://www.yorkshirefamilyhistoryfair.com/
for details.

We'll be on the "FHS of Cheshire" stand.

Hope to see you there.

I've just found out that I'm able to go this year, :D  hubby says he's interested providing his hayfever isn't too bad and my portable memory bank (that's my daughter) is also coming with me so I'll have no excuse for not asking the right questions. ;D

I hope it doesn't rain too much overnight otherwise the car park (field) might be a bit soft.
