Can someone help me find a marriage Francis Murphy born about 1840 in NUT.His wife Susannah born about 1840 in Armagh ireland.Cant find when they married or where cant find her surname.He was a serving soldier,one of his boys Francis was born 1869 in Limerick the other one John J. born 1875 in Yorkshire. Got this info from the 1881 census dont know where to go next for further details.

Answering my own question, yes I think he was.
His army records list his wife Susannah (Rogers crossed out - could this be her maiden name?) & gives details of his marriage on 12th June 1860 to Susannah Rogers at Dromore Down without leave (naughty man!). Recognised 07/06/1871.

Dont know what regiment he was in but one of his daughters was born in the Tower of London 1872.Was there any special regiments only allowed to be there.

His service record has him "at home" between 18/01/1858 and 14/10/1875. He was a clerk in the Royal Engineer Offices for 8 years but it doesn't say where that was.

could be ireland as in 1869 as 3 of his children were born there and John was born in Yorkshire in 1875.
you are a whizz i would never of found all this info.

I know one of his children was born in Dublin but think it was Michael unless he had another child i havent found yet.
