Using the Tithe Maps search, I found that Mayfield House is still there.

Also doing a search for landowner / occupants name - Temple, he shows up as having more than one plot.

Thanks for the map. At least now i know that Mayfield House exists. Maybe his other plot was Hoole House. It also looks like it was a boarding school. I had presumed that Sarah Driscoll was a teacher there as the 1851 census records her as married to Jesse Griffiths and living in Wrexham, she is a  school mistress.  She could have been a Sunday school teacher or just taught a few village children.

it`s odd, but I can find any mention of the Mayfield House in directories or old newspapers, but Isaac Temple is - quite often as Rev of Plemonstall / Plemstall.

i have also looked at directories and newspapers and found nothing. Nor anything more about Rev. Isaac Temple. It is quite a large house in a small area, you would think there would be more .

Issac Temple, Plemstall, Chester. Queen's College Cambridge, B.A. 1817, M.A. 1821; Ordained Deacon by Bishop of Chester 1816, ordained Priest by Bishop of Norwich 1821. Rector of Plemstall (or Plemonstall) Diocese of Chester 1852
(He calls himself Rector in the 1851 Census). Crockford's Directory 1874. His death was registered in Chester Dec ¼ 1880, aged 87.
