Unknown Twins to Rodger Family in Irvine Dec 1890
« on: Monday 13 May 13 09:51 BST (UK) »
I have just found 2 children born to my GGGRandfather and GGGrandma that I had no idea about......They were born Christmas Eve 1890 and registered on Jan 12 1891 in Irvine.....my problem is I cant' find them in the 1891 census (apr 5/6 1891) and I can't find them in Deaths on Scotlands People. I also looked in next census 1901.......all the other kids are there, in both 1891 & 1901.
There  names on Birth certs. are William Rodger and Isabella Blair Rodger.
If they died before the 1891 census shouldn't they still have Death Cert?
Any help appreciated,
Betty  S

Betty, there might be a mis-index of the spelling I think. Just from general searches on SP, I get one entry for an Isabella Blair R*GERS in Irvine in 1891. Might be worth checking with the wild card as I have used.

Poor little Will, Betty  :-\

Was that possible entry for Isabella not correct?

Monica, i found Isabella DC under R*gerS. She died of" Catarrh of the Bowels",( I suppose it was some sort of blockage of bowel) She died 2 days before Will.......poor wee pets.....and no one in the family seems to know of them...its so sad
I am going to contact Hawkhill Cem in Stevenson Ayr. where the parents were buried, just in case they are buried there...
Thanks again for you help

I am really pleased for you that you have now found them both. It does bother at the back of the mind when you are trying to do these types of searches doesn't it and not able to find any thing to start.
