Busby's Store Bradford

Hello

Does anyone know if there are any staff lists for Busby's store in Bradford.

I know that my mother worked there but do not know when and I would like to find out.

West Yorkshire Archives have some items relating to Busby's - by searching in their online catalogue for "Busbys" in "Any Text" I got 12 results, the most extensive of which appears to be the personal memorabilia of Anne Ashworth, an employee (WYAS Ref: WYB501).

In 1973 Busby's was taken over by Debenhams, so it's possible that any staff records etc will be found wherever Debenhams records are. (I didn't look into that.)

Check with them first - I think these items might have been at Bradford, but the Bradford branch (housed in the Central Library building) is currently undergoing major alterations. Some of the Bradford staff are working out of the Morley site, but I don't know whether the archives are there too, and if so, how accessible they are.

Bradford is closed, contact Morley staff who will arrange for the requested files to be brought over to Morley. (Appointments are a must, even for general lookups).
