Donald Macleod and his boys

I am trying to find info. on this relie. who is proving to be very difficult to find.
He was born c.1876 in Clachtoll Assynt Sutherland to Hector macleod and Hughina Fraser.
He apparently "Went to Sea" (this is the family lore) and ended up married with the 3 boys in the photo attached. I have been told he was living in Edinburgh.
I have tried Scotland People for Death and marriage certs. but I just don't have any other info.
I treid the Merchant Navy and British Navy, but there are just too many Donald Macleods.
Hopefully someone will recognise these photos.

Betty, 1901 shows a Donald McLeod, a sailor b. Helmsdda (?spl.), Sutherlandshire lodging at 19 Dock Street, Leith. A Roderick McLeod, dock labourer, also shows as lodging there. Same birth place (you would need to double check the spelling of this on the original image on SP) aged 27.

Hi Maria, Yes ,I have those 2 census records, but I can't trace Don from 1891...

and Monica, I found that ref. also, but that is not the Don. I am after....

Sorry Maria, I don't know their names or birth dates....or who he married .....I think (!) early 1900's? Some relie said they might have lived in Leith, but not certain...

Just curious, Betty.... How have you discounted the sailor Donald McLeod lodging in Leith in 1901? Not that this entry would help you in the future years, which is what you are after.

I think I mainly discounted it because of the place of birth....but I will have another look....you could be right......
