I have been researching the various branches of the Peyton family in Ireland and there is one important branch that I can't prove the link in to the main tree,  much googleing later I find there is an article in the said publication on the Peyton family which might anoswer my question.  Can anyone check for me if Randle (Randal) Peyton of Kilvicar's parentage is given?  please can anyone help?

Debbie,
I do not know where Kilvicar is but a Randle Peyton married Mary Henderson in Camus-juxta-Mourne, Strabane in 1848. The marriage certificate should give Randle's fathers name.

It's no wonder we couldn't find 'Kilvicar', kingskerswell- it's Knockvicar and there seems to have been a Randal Peyton there in 1814-

Whoops sorry,  I meant the older Randle,  I have a burial for him in Roscommon in 1826 aged 85 he was married to Frances (nee Nicholson) and had children Tobias, Charles John, Nicholson and 2 or 3 daughters.  They seem to be landowners so I was hoping to find where he fits on the main line.

There is a transcript of Randle's will here

http://evelynharry.blogspot.co.uk/2008/03/last-will-testament-of-william-obrien.html

and he seems to have been a witness to the marriage settlement of Catherine Peyton to Archibald Fraser in 1782.

Catherine was the daughter of James Peyton of Catrons who is part of the 'main' line  but I am trying to find someosrt of clue as to where Randle fits in.

So sorry to have got the place name wrong  :-[

There are 2 Peyton's listed in Griffith's Valuation in Roscommon.
Alicia in Kilbryan parish. And Thomas in Tibohine parish. Printing dates of 1858 and 1857.
Perhaps descendants or in laws of Randle.

Oh did a search for Rusheen Roscommon on Griffith's and found a Charles Peyton parish Ardcarn townland Rusheen. Landlord Viscount Lorton.
