« on: Saturday 01 June 13 05:06 BST (UK) »
Hi

John Street m Mary Alderman Sept 1841 Bloomsbury Camden  - cant seem to find this marriage / details esp Father / Residence

Trying to trace back for John Street (like Smith quite difficult)

Have traced Mary back to Bucks

1851 Census - 4 York St Clerkenwell St James
John, according to Census born in approx. 1819 , (32) Bricklayer of this Parish? writing difficult
Mary 25
Mar Ann 9
Eliza Ann 9
Louisa 3
Thomas 1

If I could at least obtain John's Father's name and possible baptism 1819? in same area?

Sincerely appreciate any help

Best Wishes

Steve

The 1851 census has him as born Hampstead Rd, Middlesex.

The 1851 census has him as born Hampstead Rd, Middlesex.

Given the address, there's a fair chance that this is his baptism:

(bishop's transcripts)
St Giles in the Fields
4 Oct 1818
John, of William & Abigal Street, 3 Mary Place, St Pancras, Sadler

Mary Place was an alleyway between Stanhope Street and Hampstead Road.

The 1841 marriage in Bloomsbury RD may also have been at St Giles in the Fields. The registers are not online for that date. You'll probably want to get the marriage certificate to check his father's name/occupation and ensure you're following the right family, as there are other STREET families in the area.

Hi jomcd967, Bookbox

Thanks so very much for your help, esp the Marriage Ref and Baptism:
Do you know a possible Church for the Bloomsbury Marriage?

Best Wishes

Do you know a possible Church for the Bloomsbury Marriage?

As mentioned above, the marriage is likely to have been at the church of St Giles in the Fields. That would explain why it has not been found online, because those registers are not available online for this date. There is a film at London Metropolitan Archives.

The only other Anglican church licensed for marriages in Bloomsbury registration district in 1841 was St George Bloomsbury (registers are online via Ancestry).

But they may have married at a nonconformist venue, or at the Register Office, for which there is in any case no online access.

So you probably need to order the marriage certificate, as recommended above.
