Can some one look up for me if MARIA was a widow when marriage ,and if there were any children from the marriage to JOHN HAYLOR SCUTT Jun period 1871  2b 516.

Yes ihave the entry from freebmd and it is registered at Thakeham ,
The problem is ,we are researching WILLIAM BRISTOW Bn 1829 who married MARIA oliver jun 1851 Horsham 7-549 ,in 1861 they are living Southwater ,
BRISTOW William h m m 32 ag lab bn Shipley sussex.
"       "      Maria   w m  f 31 ag lab wife Bn Itchingfield sussex.
"       "      Olover Wm  son    M   4      Horsham sussex.
 "      "      Sarah Jane   Dau   F   2        "      "
 "       "     Chas Joseph son   M  3m      "      ".
Cannot find family after that ,but we have found a death for William Bristow 1864 Horsham.
Bit of irony the next door neighbour is th SCUTT family 1861 census.
Bit of a mystery ,hope you can help.

I can see Oliver on all census though place of birth in 1871 is Shipley.

In 1881 Maria (Marie) is married to Solomon Harding (Solomon age 51 bn Shipley) with daughter Sarah J Bristow age 21

1871 has a Sarah J Harding age 11 bn Shipley servt living with Henry Harding  RG10/1096 f7 p8
this could be daughter 

Can't see Solomon & Maria in 1871 
Found them   RG10/1096 f95 p2 living Horsham with 5 year old daughter Eliza Harding  If you are looking for them Solomon has been transcribed as Johnson Harding on one site.

1891 Maria Harding is living at Southwater, Horsham age 63 bn Itchinghurst a widow
RG12 /826 f89 p8

This looks like Solomon's christening

Well done you ,thats where we were going wrong ,i was assuming she married,John ScUTT ,hence we could not find them ,but my client at age concern where i am a volunteer has said he remember,s visiting a SCUTT family in Horsham ,so the other Maria must be a cousin or something ,again my thanks Arry

Hi Rosie99.
Now there,s a conundrum ,i shall be seeing the gent concerned on tuesday ,and will put your findings to him as i am sure he has said he has visited a SCUTT family when he was young and i am now wondering if the one married to JOHN SCUTT is the right one after all??.
