Kinchin Ancestors;
« on: Wednesday 12 June 13 04:01 BST (UK) »

 HI to all my R,C, buddies who come to my aid when I'm stuck,my son's are
after me to find the rellies on their father's side,so here I am back on the
trail again.I have a few blank spots so looking for help with maybe some
Census Records in London,Eng.areas.

Alfred Hugh Kinchin(b)c1839-40 Marylebone,London;parents unknown;his
occupation later Mason's Laborer,he was also Deaf from childhood,he then
married Mary A surname unknown,she (b) c1840 Marylebone;parents unknown.
these two married in Pancras Dist March,1868;

I only have info on one son Alfred Hugh Kinchin(b)9Nov,1872,Paddington;he
married Alice Marian Davies(b) June,1875 Kensington,Lon.they married Dec
1892,Paddington Dist. these two here were the parents of my late mother-in-
law,Alice Marian Kinchin.I have some info on the family with her,but through
the grapevine I'm told the Kinchin name was quite popular with many,many
families all in this area of London.

Anything anyone can find on this family name will be greatly appreciated,thanks

Kind regards;
Janey;

Do you have Alfred Hugh's birth certificate if you know his exact birth date, if so who were his parents?

 HI Kathleen & Jennifer;

This is wonderful,,,thank you both for your replies,I do not have any birth certs
for Alfred Hugh or wife Mary A Kinchin,I got some info on the London area from
my late mother-in-law,and I looked on the Free BMD Index and got Alfred Hugh
Kinchin(b)Sept 1841,Marylebone,no idea of parents,then I found an Alfred Hugh
Kinchin married, March 1868 Pancras,no idea of wife's name, with these families
all handing down the same names in each generation it's hard to know who is who.

My mother-in-law was the daughter of Alfred Hugh Kinchin & Alice Marian Davies
Kinchin,they married Dec,1892 Paddington,she claimed the above Alfred H.&Mary
A.Kinchin were her Granparents,he was Deaf from childhood,a Mason's Laborer
and lived with them,they are on the 1901 Census at 95 Cirencester St,Paddington
where my mother-in-law was born in Sept,1901 the youngest of 5 children,she said
her granmother Mary A.Kinchin was a Washerwoman,she thought they both died
early 1900's.I remember she mentioned a William Kinchin,but don't know now if
he may have been a brother of Alfred H. or if that was his father.

My mother-in-law died Nov,1964,Hendon,Middlx.and in 1970  hubby,son's & I went
over for a visit we went to Hendon Cemetery to put flowers on his mother's grave
I took a picture of it also there we saw the gravestone of her Father,Alfred Hugh
Kinchin,buried 7Feb,1955.but no sign of her mother Alice Marian Davies Kinchin
who we were told died in 1956,she was known by the name of 'Mill'.
I forgot to say this Alfred H.was born 9Nov,1872 and married Alice M.Davies 4 Oct 1892,Paddington,he was a Railway Porter all his life.Their children are as follows;-

Alfred Hugh Kinchin Jr.(b) 1894 Paddington.
Emily Marian   '          (b)  1895     '
Frederick George '     (b) 1897      ' (died) June 1901 age 4yrs
Henry James      '      (b) 1899     '
Alice Marian       '      (b)  1901    '

From what I know of there are lots of these Kinchin families living in the same Lon.
area so I don't have any idea who is who.Would appreciate very much any help
you can give, thanks.

Kind regards;
Janey;
