accident new york docks

hi
can anyone please help
I am trying to find if there would have been any reports in the newspapers about
john murray
who was killed while working on the docks
he died in 1949 new York
he was age 41,
I have no other information about him apart from he was born in Ireland.a lot to ask but thought it worth a try

You could try searching at the Fulton History site which has a large collection of newspapers from NY state some of which cover 1949.

I do think a few years ago I had a link to a historical New York Newspaper, can't locate it.

However, this link provides a large list of New York Online Historical Newspapers (including the Fulton History site)

At the fultonhistory site, I found the attached article in the Brooklyn NY Daily Eagle of 23 March 1949.  Hope this helps a little.
