Mary Ann McVay Birchmore
« on: Friday 21 June 13 06:58 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, I am very new to genealogy and I am looking for birth information for a Mary Ann Mcvay. The only info I have is that she married William John Birchmore at St Ignatius Church, Norwood SA on 21 April 1878 and died 5th Oct 1918 in Parkside, SA aged 62. Her father was listed as James Mcvay and that is the extent of my knowledge. I don't know where she was born, her mothers name or that of any siblings, or where her parents came from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Kelly

Hi Kelly

I found this birth entry, which may or may not be for your Mary Ann.

Australia Birth Index, 1788-1922
Name:                              Anne Mcvay
Father's Name:                 Hugh Mcvay
Mother's Name:                 Emma Stanton
Birth Place:                 Perth
Registration Year:    1858
Registration Place:    Western Australia
Registration number:    4147

If she was born in Australia then this is a potential match.

Hope this helps. It's certainly worth exploring.

Cheers for now, Bonza
